I have been searching for a macro for Word 2010 that will convert my endnotes to text and have found three, none of which work properly.

When you have moved all your footnote placemarkers into the text, on the EndNote tab in Word, click Update Citations and Bibliography. The endnotes at the end of the combined document are numbered accordingly. Find the footnote number in the text Paste the placemarker into the text (Ctrl+V, or Cmd+V on a Mac) Delete the footnote number in the text 4. Unformat the in-text citations: Go to the EndNote tab and click on the drop-down menu beside Convert Citations and Bibliography select Convert to Unformatted. This does not alter the Word formatting, but it does cancel. Use the Convert to Plain Text command to remove the EndNote field codes. The ultimate goal is to have the endnotes appear in a separate section at the end of the book, separated further into sections (“notes to chapter 1,” “notes to chapter 2.” etc.). I need to clean the docs up (replace direct formatting with styles, get rid of extraneous paragraph marks, tabs, etc.) prior to placing them in an InDesign template (I prefer to do this cleanup work in Word). The author has sent me 20 separate Word docs, the chapters of the book, each with endnotes.
